Tomorrow, I begin the adventure that is my fall semester and I could not be more excited to have been accepted to study abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark!
Denmark is an absolutely beautiful and unique country and I am so excited to be studying at the Danish Institute for Study Abroad. This school is in the heart of Copenhagen and is only for students studying abroad for a semester. Because I'm a Biology and Leadership Studies double major, it was difficult finding a school abroad where I could take classes and receive credit for both majors.
I will write later about the classes that I am taking, but one of the coolest aspects of DIS is their Core Course program. Through the selected core class, the group of students will take the course together and then eventually travel together. The class I am taking is called Psychopharmacology: Substances and the Brain and we will be traveling to Munich for a week!
Another aspect of studying abroad that I am looking forward to is my homestay. I will be living 45 minutes outside of the city in a house with an older woman and two other kids from my program. To me, being able to learn a little danish and about the Danish culture is an integral part to the study abroad experience.
I could not be more excited for my semester in Copenhagen, especially since two of my friends from high school and 20+ kids from Richmond will also be there! I will try to post at least once a week about my crazy adventures!
Love,
